Brazing Copper Conductors:

brazing copper conductors

Eldec Induction offers many standard solutions for brazing various copper conductors. One of the most common operations is carried out by using our versatile brazing pistol, which can be used in the brazing of flat copper wires, frequently used in the power generation, distribution, and electrical apparatus industries. Eldec’s mobile induction generator comes with a hand held, coaxial transformer (max. 10 m length), which quickly connects to the user friendly, pneumatically operated brazing pistol and induction coil with pneumatic clamping assembly.

Since joining processes demand high quality, induction heating technology is ideal to meet these stringent requirements. The temperatures generated in the brazing and adjacent areas must be exactly limited to prevent damage to insulation systems and surrounding elements of the construction. A common problem is that the brazing points are often hard to access. Eldec Induction heating solutions offer the flexible, balanced, and easily controlled brazing pistol.

The operation is really simple. In the first position, the pneumatically operated tension rod is actuated via a switch to securely clamp and affix the conductors. In the second position the power is transmitted to the workpiece. This allows the user to optimize the complete set up prior to heating and assure the quality of the joint once brazed. Standard tooling has been developed to accommodate a wide range of joint configurations.

Eldec Types MFG 15, MFG 10, or MFG 5

The brazing process for joining of copper conductors in the electrical engineering industry is carried out with our inductive heating units, type Eldec MFG 15 or MFG 10 or MFG 5 with a special brazing pistol fixed to the coaxial transformer. The photo shows the Eldec MFG 15 using igbt transistor technology as a table model with a simple ring inductor instead of a brazing pistol. The manual coaxial transformer is connected with the generator by a flexible feed line up to 10 meters long.
