Buyers' Guides from Eldec Induction U.S.A., Inc.
Except for the smallest HF units, which are designed in Power Mosfet Transistor Technology, all generators are designed with igbt Transistor Technology with pulse-width modulation (PWM) on MF generators and with pulse package control (PPS) on HF generators. In the past, heating ferromagnetic materials to the temperature transition beyond the Curie point meant compromises in the efficiency of the generator. Now, due to electronic power regulation, using automatic frequency regulation and impedance matching, Eldec Induction generators are designed to operate with the highest efficiency over the entire frequency range, and continuously deliver the optimal rated power of the generator.
Medium Frequency
Eldec Induction's MF (Medium Frequency) units have power ratings from 5 kW to 500 kW in the frequency range from 10 kHz to 25 kHz and from 2 kHz to 5 kHz as low MF.
High Frequency
HF (High Frequency) units vary from our smallest with power ratings of 1.5 kW and 3 kW in the frequency range from 100 kHz to 450 kHz to HF units with ratings of 5 kW to 500 kW in the frequency range from 150 kHz to 350 kHz.
Simultaneous Dual Frequency Generators
In addition to the units mentioned above and as the world leader in induction heating technology, Eldec Induction produces SDF® (Simultaneous Dual Frequency) generators, a technological breakthrough in induction heating systems. The SDF® generators are produced with ratings from 15 kW to 3000 kW in igbt transistor technology in the HF (high frequency) range from 150 kHz to 350 kHz and in the MF (medium frequency) range from 10 kHz to 25 kHz. The range of adjustment of the output of the HF and MF converter is infinitely variable between 2 and 100 percent each. Here, the medium frequency's basic oscillation is multiplexed with an HF oscillation.
These SDF® generators are mainly used for our new SDF® method of contour-true surface hardening of profiles, such as gears, sprockets, and the like. Transistorized generators are resistant to short circuits; and, due to the low voltage of the inductor, any touch of the work piece by mistake does not have adverse effects. The generators are controlled by a PLC, which allows even the most difficult heating tasks to be solved due to a maximum of 8 programmable intervals with freely selectable outputs. Connections for remote control and efficiency standards from the customer as well as error messages are also included.
