Thermal Removal of Non-metallic Coatings

eldec HFG 10 used to remove non-metalic coating Thermal removal of non-metallic coatings on steel pipes using inductive heating is easy using a 10 kW high frequency generator with a cable output like the Eldec Induction HFG 10 igbt (shown left). Due to its small and compact construction and simple operation, this induction heating generator is ideally suited for mobile as well as stationary use with a variety of applications within the metal processing industry. The Eldec Induction HFG 10 igbt can also be used for other applications that require thermal processing of mechanical workpieces. These applications include: soldering, brazing or hardening of steels, as well as many other different heating processes where only partial heating is required.

thermal coating removal demonstrationUsing a line inductor to heat the steel pipes as demonstrated on the left, the coating stays cool up to the bonding zone, and is only softened, so that the bonding is emphasized on the pipe. It can then be lifted off by hand or by using a spatula.

Internal coatings of steel pipes can be removed using by a ring-type inductor. Once cooled, the coating can be pulled out of the steel pipe in one piece.

Technical Specifiations of the Eldec Induction HFG 10 igbt

HFG 10 Generator by eldec Induction U.S.A.The table top version HF Generator, the Eldec Induction HFG 10 igbt with igbt transistor technology, has a hand-held coaxial transformer with 2 to 5 m flexible feed cable for heating with one to three winding inductors, and for manual or automatic heating of electrically conductive materials. The photograph shows a three-winding inductor heating a workpiece to glowing condition.
